Preliminary exercise learner response

 1) Type up your teacher's feedback in full plus a summary of the comments you received from other students in the class.

  • Really impressive preliminary exercise – going for the chorus was an excellent idea and the pace and number of shots is exactly what we want for a music video.
  • Editing is the real strength here – superb pace, matches the beat and several really well constructed moments.
  • Lip syncing is perfect in places but slightly off in others? Worth checking very carefully for full video.
  • Do you need a separate studio performance element?
  • Only comment on concept is to avoid it becoming too much like an advert for London tourism.
  • Needed brand identity of your artist in there – that was part of the brief for the preliminary exercise.
  • Really good pace of editing
  • too many hair flips

2) Using a combination of your own reflection on the preliminary exercise and the feedback you were given, write three WWW bullet points and three EBI bullet points for your work

   WWW:

  • variety of shots  and locations and good editing pace
  • good lip syncing at points
  • flowers to fit with the lyrics
EBI:

  • lip syncing off at some points
  • too many hair flips
  • make a scene with clear background / studio element

3) How effectively did you complete the objective you laid out in your mini preliminary exercise statement of intent?

I did do variety of shots didn't use all of the angles but used most of them.

4) What have you learned from the preliminary exercise that will help you in the actual coursework project?

Lip syncing to perfect it as when you export it sometimes its off as well as the colour gradient. also try using plain backgrounds more often and i am going to use later on in the video bedroom vibes to make it more unique and change the setting.

5) Now you have completed the preliminary exercise, will you change anything about your actual coursework video plan? This could include your concept, cast/actors or technical elements such as mise-en-scene, camerawork or editing.

I may be changing the sponsorship footwear to air force ones or converse. For camera work maybe more medium and medium close up shots mostly I may need to try adding like over the shoulder shots.
